El-Wire Drivers / Inverters.

Electroluminescent Wire Drivers from Cool Neon and Hovering Studios are just what you need to power your el-wire. Whatever your project may be, there will be a driver to get you glowing.

Drivers are designed to run specific lengths of wire and come with 'always on' 'flash' or 'strobe' options (or a combination) depending upon the driver. When it comes to selecting a driver for a project, the most important thing to know is how much wire you want to light, color and thickness do not matter, only wire length. You will find at least one driver option for whatever length of el-wire you want to drive.

El-wire drivers will run on different power sources from 6V-14V but el-wire runs best at 12V. Some drivers use 3V batteries, others use AA, AAA, 9V or an AC wall socket adapter so be sure to check the power source for your driver to make sure you are happy with it. A great way to power any driver with a 9V battery cap is to use an 8AA battery cage to give you 12V of power on more economical AA batteries.

High quality rechargeable batteries are always recommended to keep the juice flowing.

Note: If you want to Animate your el-wire then you have a few options. Strobing Drivers (found on this page) will give your cool neon the appearance of "tracer-like" movement while Sequencers can be used to cycle through different el-wire strands for more advanced effects. Sequencers contain everything you need to light your el-wire in one simple package and are on the next page.
